Mariah Carey’s collabo with French Montana: Second time’s the charm

by

ABC/Randy HolmesMariah Carey‘s second try at a collaboration with French Montana — this time on his remix version of “Unforgettable” — was meant to be.

The icon tells Essence, “I had worked with French Montana before but we never released the single, so this time around we were like, ‘Let’s just do it.'”

The song, which is currently number two on Billboard‘s Hot Rap Songs chart, also features Rae Sremmurd member Swae Lee.

It may also preview Mariah’s artistic vision for her next studio project, though she teases, “I can’t give too much away.”

“I hope to work with [French Montana] on this album. He’s one of my favorite people to work with,” she tells Essence.

“I [also] hope to work with Travis Scott and I’d love to work with Kendrick Lamar too. Who doesn’t love Kendrick?”

Mimi is currently finishing up her tour with Lionel Richie, and prepping her “All I Want For Christmas” concerts in Las Vegas this December.
