Mary J. Blige, Jamie Foxx and Usher to Celebrate Opening of Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture

ABC/ Lou RoccoThe Smithsonian Institution’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture will be inaugurated with a special television event — Taking the Stage — Changing America.  

The ABC program will celebrate the museum’s opening with performances from Mary J. BligeJamie FoxxUsher and Foo Fighters rocker Dave Grohl.  

Appearances from musical, dance and spoken word artists also will include CommonNe-YoGladys Knight, Gary Clark Jr.The Alvin Ailey Dancers and The Howard Gospel Choir, among others.    

The National Museum of African American History and Culture officially opens to the public on September 24, with tickets for entry now available.

Taking the Stage — Changing America will be filmed on September 23, and air on ABC during the 2016-2017 season.
