Capitol RecordsMary J. Blige has reached a career milestone with her hit track “Thick of It,” as the single has climbed to the number-one spot on the Mediabase Urban AC radio chart in just four weeks.
The last artist to top the chart in such a short period of time was Whitney Houston with her song, “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” in 1995, which shot to the top of the Urban AC chart in its second week, according to Mary’s record label, Capitol Records.
Mary is currently gearing up for the United States leg of her King + Queen of Hearts joint tour withMaxwell. The duo will hit the road beginning on November 5 in Baltimore, Maryland.
