Melvin Edmonds of After 7 Dies After Extended Illness

by

One of the co-founders and co-lead singers for the 80s group After 7 has died.   Melvin Edmonds was the brother of  Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds and Kevon Edmonds.  It reported that he died after an extended illness.   Edmonds was active with the group from 1987 to 1997.

Melvin, along with brother Kevon formed the group at Indiana University along with college mate Keith Mitchell. They played local gigs in the Bloomington area where the school was located.

Brother ‘Babyface’ joined later.

Melvin, who battled with drug addiction left the group in 1997, according to his brothers, because of the stresses of the business.

RIP Melvin. You will be missed.
