Photo Credit: Daniel SannwaldMiguel already has a game plan in place for his next album. The singer tells ABC Radio that he intends to record the follow-up to his latest album, Wildheart, while he’s on the road for his summer tour.

“I think we’re going to be touring with this album for a bit of time but I know that I will be creating music simultaneously while we’re touring this time around,” he says.  “So, I’m looking forward to creating another body of work that is right in line with, you know, where I am in life as it’s happening. This album is the closest to me that I’ve had my fans and being able to bring them in, and I think the next one is even closer, so that’s going to be really exciting.”

As the first leg of his North American trek kicks off tonight, July 24 in Austin, Texas, Miguel reveals what he’s looking forward to most.

“I’m excited because it’s my first headline run, we’ll do it here domestically and then we’ll go to Europe, Australia and then come back to the states for a bigger run,” he says. “So it’s pretty robust, like the run is going to be pretty righteous, so I’m excited about it.” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)

The upcoming trek will make stops in Philadelphia, New York, Chicago and Toronto, before wrapping September 4 in his hometown of Los Angeles. He will be joined by with special guest Dorothy. Visit OfficialMiguel.com for ticket information.
