Missy Elliot performing during Super Bowl 49; Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagicMissy Elliott and H.E.R. plan to bring the heat to the Super Bowl.
The iconic rapper and the two-time Grammy-winning singer will appear together in the Pepsi Zero Sugar commercial during the game on February 2 in Miami between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
“We about to drop some fire,” Missy wrote on social media, along with a photo of them holding cans of Pepsi. H.E.R. responded to Missy, “You’re legendary!!!. Can’t wait!”
Missy previously appeared in the Mountain Dew Super Bowl ad in 2018. In 2015, she performed “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” and “Lose Control” during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl 49 halftime show.
Pepsi, which is also presenting this year’s halftime show starring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, is famous for bringing star power to its Super Bowl campaigns. Last year’s ad featured Cardi B and Lil Jon, while Michael Jackson and Beyoncé starred in previous Pepsi commercials during the big game.
