The rapper was presented with an honorary doctorate from Boston’s Berklee College of Music over the weekend, along with Justin Timberlake and Hamilton composer Alex Lacamoire.

Missy became the first female rapper in history to ever receive an honorary doctorate from the institution.

“There will be ups and downs — prepare for that,” Missy told graduates in her speech. “As long as you are breathing, it is never too late. Don’t forget that. You have come too far to quit.”

After the ceremony, she posted a video on Twitter showing her dancing with her diploma in her cap and gown.

“CREATE YOUR OWN LANE!!!” she wrote. “Sincerely Dr. MISSY ELLIOTT. @BerkleeCollege Thank you for this Honorary Doctorate Degree I am SO HUMBLED.”
