(Note Language) Nas and 21 Savage have come together for a new song titled “One Mic, One Gun.”

The track, which dropped Tuesday, sees them seemingly address rumors that they were at odds. For the uninitiated, Savage ruffled feathers two weeks ago when he claimed Nas was not relevant.

“I don’t feel like he’s relevant, I just feel like he got fans…He’s not relevant,” he’d said in a Twitter Spaces conversation. “He just has a loyal-a** fan base…and he still make good-a** music.” The comment garnered criticism from the likes of Hit-BoyKodak BlackFivio Foreign and more.

21 later retracted his statement, noting he “would never disrespect nas or any legend who paved the way for me y’all be tryna take stuff and run with it.” In the new song, he raps, “I ain’t goin’ against no legend, n****, I’m tryna be next in line.”

Both he and Nas are also heard insisting that there is no back and forth.

“Only way we moving is with love, respect and unity. The foundational principles of hip-hop,” Nas said of the song before its release. “Excited to collaborate with my young brother and I hope more artist[s] use turbulent moments and turn them into a time to make new art. That’s what it’s about.”

“One Mic, One Gun” appears to be a nod to Nas’ “One Mic.” It also seems to reference 21’s “ASMR” lyric: “I just need one Glock, Nas need one mic.”
