Nas and Mary J. Blige tease new single, Thriving

by

ABC/Randy HolmesAhead of their co-headlining tour, Mary J. Blige and Nas are teasing a fresh new single titled “Thriving.”

Friday, the veteran rapper and vocal powerhouse took to Instagram to share the cover art for the record. While Nas opted for a brief caption promoting the track, MJB shared a quote from the late great poet Maya Angelou

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to THRIVE, and do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style,” the caption reads.

Although there are no details regarding the release of “Thriving,” it’s safe to assume this song will likely appear on Blige’s next project.

This collaboration will join the list of previous tracks Nas and Mary have done together, including 2013’s  “Rise Up Shepherd and Follow” from The Black Nativity soundtrack, 2012’s “Reach Out,” from Nas’ Life Is Good album and the 1997 cut “Love Is All We Need,” from MJB’s third studio album, Share My World.

The news of the forthcoming single follows the announcement of the duo’s upcoming Royalty Tour. The 22-city trek is set to kick off on July 11 in West Palm Beach.

Tickets are now available for purchase via Live Nation.
