It’s National Dessert Day!

by

(KRNB) – October 14th is National Dessert Day!  It’s your excuse to indulge every October 14th on sweet treats from the local bakery, grandma’s house or chocolate shop.  National Dessert Day includes candies, pies, ice cream, fruits, cookies, pastries, cobblers, and donuts, too.

I’m Loni Taylor, a Smooth R&B 105.7 weekend personality. As an avid cook and baker, I thought I’d share some pics of some of my sweet treats!

This German Chocolate Cake was a hit at a ‘Ladies Night In at my house a few years ago!

Made totally in a crock pot, I borrowed this recipe from The Food Network … Dulce de Leche Crock Pot Sweet Potato Pudding Cake  (Dulce de leche is caramelized milk) #Yummo

Well, after a call to my momma, I had all the steps to make her crowd-pleasing Coconut Lemon Curd Cake!

One of my Facebook foodie groups was having a dessert contest and I created this here beauty!
Sweet Potato and Apple Crumble Tort, drizzled, caramel topping and sprinkled with a little coarse sea salt

Banana Cream Pie w/ Cool Whip and caramel drizzle 🙂

I was inspired to make a ‘ganache’ … Why because it’s such a cool word and delicious! German Chocolate Cupcakes with German Chocolate Ganache

Cheesecake tarts

Very Very Berry Shortcake in Vanilla Anglaise … Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
(Crème anglaise is a light pouring custard used as a dessert cream or sauce on the bottom of the dish)
