Ne-Yo celebrates the 15th anniversary ‘In My Own Words’ debut album with an acoustic performance

Lourdes SuakariMulti-Grammy-winning singer Ne-Yo takes us back with an acoustic performance of hits from his two-time platinum debut, In My Own Words, in honor of the album’s 15th anniversary.

Ne-Yo shows he’s just as powerful in an intimate setting as he is on stage, performing acoustic versions of his hit singles “So Sick” and “Sexy Love,” live from his Atlanta studio, The Compound.

According to a press release, both versions will be featured on the upcoming deluxe anniversary of In My Own Words, along with two instrumentals, including the previously retail-exclusive track “Girlfriend,” and “Stay (Remix),” which was released on the Japanese version of the album. 

Fans will be able to take a deep dive into Ne-Yo’s music career and life in an upcoming documentary. It will follow Ne-Yo’s journey from penning hits records such as Rihanna‘s “Unfaithful,” Beyoncé‘s “Irreplaceable” and more, to writing Grammy-winning hit records for himself such “Miss Independent” and his 2007 album, Because of You.  Ne-Yo’s documentary will also touch on his performance at George Floyd’s funeral last June and his relationship with his wife, Crystal.
