Motown Records/Compound EntertainmentNe-Yo’s wife Crystal Williams is pregnant and expecting a new arrival very soon, and he hopes the baby will be “my Father’s Day gift.”

“My wife is nine months pregnant and it’s pretty much time to go,” Ne-Yo tells ABC Radio. “I’m just trying to be where she is, trying to be where she is and where the kids are and my father’s day gift will, Lord willing, be my new son.”

Ne-Yo and Crystal have one child together: their two-year-old son Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr. He also has two children from a previously relationship: seven-year-old daughter Madilyn Grace Smith, and six-year-old son, Mason Evan Smith.

Ne-Yo released his seventh studio album, Good Man, on June 8, featuring PARTYNEXTDOORBebe Rexha, Stefflon Don, Romeo Santos, Eric Bellinger, Candice Boyd and Sam Hook.

The three-time Grammy Award winner takes pride in creating wholesome soul music, and he’s happy to see the urban music landscape turning back to classic R&B.

“The pendulum is swinging back towards music that feels like something again,” he says.

“The trap music and the drug references, that stuff is cool in the right setting and in the right moment,” he adds. “But that music that speaks to your soul, like that’s what we were needing. That’s what was missing, and I feel like it’s slowly but surely coming back.
