Beyonce still has everyone talking about her Super Bowl halftime show last week. Although many detractors have accused her of race baiting, some of her R&B peers have spoken up on Beyonce’s behalf and support her message in “Formation.”

During an interview on HuffPost Live, Ne-Yo saidd that he fully supports the singer. “If anyone has the right to speak out on racial issues, it’s Beyonce,” he said. “Beyonce knows how to toe that line between elegance and ratchet. She’s the epitome of it.”

“I personally don’t think that it was all that serious,” Ne-Yo said.  “The critics went a little far with where they took [the meaning of the song], but I feel like, overall, even if that was what was meant, so what? She has the right. Everybody else has the right to talk about their culture and their race and be proud of it, so why can’t we? Why can’t she?”

Meanwhile, Kelly Rowland had a simple message for the haters, especially former New York mayor Rudy Guiliani, who said that Bey’s performance gave people a “platform to attack police officers.”

“I think that we live in a country where you have the freedom to say how you feel and talk,” she told BET at a pre-Grammy party. “And it’s really from a peaceful place. I think that they’re blowing it out of proportion.” She then added, “Giuliani should just shut up.”

As previously reported, Beyonce told Entertainment Tonight that she just “wanted people to feel proud, have love for themselves.”
