ABC/ Ida Mae AstuteNe-Yo‘s new album Good Man arrives everywhere on June 8. The World of Dance judge tells ABC Radio that one of the major characteristics of a good man is “accountability.”
Ne-Yo explains, “As men, we try to get away with a lot of stuff. It’s very, very difficult to look in the mirror and say, ‘What did I do wrong? What could I have done to make this better? What could I have done to fix this situation?'”
“It’s something that I personally had to do. It was not easy.”
“But it’s growth…it’s medicine,” he adds.
The “Miss Independent” singer also talks about the things in his life he finds very important to his own personal growth and well-being.
“My family is important. My music is important,” he says, adding, “I keep my nose clean. I’ve never been a knucklehead and there’s no reason to start now.”
