ABC/Kelsey McNealNelly just might set the stage on fire during his performance tonight on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. The Country Grammar rapper says it’s an honor to be apart of the biggest televised New Year’s Eve party.
“Actually, its an honor,” he tells ABC Audio. “Shout-out to the homie Dick, the homie Ryan. This probably will be the biggest party on New Year’s and to get a a chance to rock out is dope. It’s tradition and I’m thankful for being here.”
And of course, Nelly won’t forget to perform his 2002 hit “Hot in Herre,” which he calls “the perfect party record.”
“Obviously, I’m doing a couple of classics and things,” he explains. “We got a melody celebrating the 20th anniversary of Country Grammar coming out of 2020 and thanking everybody for making that a Diamond album and one of the biggest projects of my life.”
Nelly will also be performing his latest single, “Little Bit,” featuring chart-topping country group Florida Georgia Line. The St. Louis native says tonight’s performance will serve as another 2020 highlight for him, after releasing the first single from his 2021 EP, The Heartland, and coming in third on ABC’sDancing with the Stars.
“[It’s] just a great record [with] great energy,” says Nelly. “[And] Getting a chance to drop my new single so to speak..and again rocking out right here [and] getting a chance to do something very special with Dancing with the Stars has been dope.” (AUDIO IS ABC 1-ON-1)
