Nelly, Flo Rida and TLC are set to heat up the summer with their North American joint tour.

Kicking off later this month in Tuscaloosa, the trek will make stops in 21 major cities including Atlanta, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Austin, Houston and more before wrapping on August 31 at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine, California.

Ahead of their time on the road, however, the hitmakers get to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday and pig out on their favorite traditional meals. Each artist shared with ABC Radio what makes or breaks the ultimate cookout.

According to TLC’s Chilli it’s all about eating “clean.”

“I’m a vegetarian. Eat super clean. So whatever veggies you want to put on the grill, that’s fine. Or, you know, like, plant-based type burgers and things like that,” the singer explained.

But her co-founding band mate and sister in song, T-Boz, certainly disagrees.

“We gotta have some barbecue!” the “Waterfalls” vocalist chimed in. “We have to have some ribs, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, all fattening stuff. It’s a barbecue!”

She added: “And then we’ll have a little section for the healthy people who don’t really want to do a barbecue.”

As for the barbecue playlist, T-Boz also has that covered with her eclectic taste in music.

‘You’d be surprised,” she says of her favorite tunes. “My playlist is like ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit,’ then it may go to Marvin Gaye. It’s summer…everybody on there!  So anything that makes you feel good is gonna be on my playlist.”

Cheers to that.
