Bobby Bank/WireImageMotown is coming to Netflix.
The streaming service on Wednesday announced a new animated series, still untitled, revolving around an eight-year-old boy, Ben, “who discovers he has the extraordinary ability to bring street-art to life.”
The show will be inspired by the words and melodies of classic Motown songs.
Josh Wakely, who created the Beatles-themed Beat Bugs for Netflix and is working on the Motown project, notes that Smokey Robinson will play a part.
“He’ll be curating it. It’ll be a mixture of Motown legends performing with kind of the very best musicians around today,” Wakeley explains.
It’s unclear when the show will premiere on Netflix.
