In the original docuseries, Gardner escaped from the singer thanks to her mother’s efforts and in September, she agreed to tell her story to Lifetime. While we don’t see Gardner say much in the clip, we do see her mom, Michelle Kramer, speak.
Kramer, in tears, says, “Before Dominique met R. Kelly, she was this bubbly teenager. But after R. Kelly, she was dark. She was like a loner….he f***** her up emotionally.”
Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning kicks off January 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It’ll feature interviews with new survivors, supporters, psychologists and cultural and legal experts.
Kelly has denied all charges and claims of sexual abuse and misconduct made against him.
