ABC/Randy HolmesThe 11th annual Afropunk Festival is arriving on August 27 — and the lineup appears to be better than ever. A wide range of musical artists, including Ceelo Green, Angel Haze, George Clinton, Ice Cube, Janelle Monae, Living Color, Saul Williams and Tyler the Creator will perform at the event.
This year’s theme revolves around giving “power to the party.” “This isn’t about getting elected, or being protected; it’s about staking a claim,” states the Afropunk Fest official website. Food trucks, pop-up restaurants, visual art installations, markets and after parties will also be on display throughout the electric weekend if the festival.
Afropunk Fest comes to Brooklyn, New York, at the Commodore Barry Park, on August 27 and 28.
