by

(L-R) Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Nick Cannon, Carnie Wilson, Aisha Tyler and Sharon Osbourne; Lisette M. Azar/CBSNick Cannon has announced he’s headed back to school, sharing with fans his first day of school photo in front of Howard University.

The actor/rapper made the announcement via Instagram, writing, “YOU KNOW!!!!!! #HU2020 My First Day as a Freshman!!! Howard University Class of 2020.”

Cannon, who starred in the 2002 film Drumline, where he played a freshman musician at the fictional historically black college, Atlanta A&T University, has drawn some humorous reactions from social media, including his former Drumline co-star, Orlando Jones.

Using a reference from the movie, Jones, who played the bandleader who questions Cannon’s tardiness to class, tweeted, “Just remember @NickCannon “You’re on time if you’re 5 minutes earlier, You’re late if you’re on time!” #OneBandOneSound PS – Congrats.”

No word on if Nick Cannon will be joining Howard University’s marching band.
