ABC/Adam RosePharrell Williams was late to the recent L.A. premiere of his new Netflix animated series True and the Rainbow Kingdom, but he had a good excuse.
Page Six reports that the entertainer got stuck in an elevator for thirty minutes while on his way to the event.
Ironically, his own song, “Happy,” began playing on the elevator’s sound system while Pharrell, his security team, and twelve other people waited for help.
A source tells the publication, “He kept calm and collected until the fire department arrived. They never got the door fully open, so everyone had to climb through the door to get out.”
Thankfully Pharrell made it to the premiere and explained, “Well, we were stuck in the elevator, but now I’m here. It was hot in there!”
True and the Rainbow Kingdom is out on Netflix now.
