Omari Hardwick to star in horror thriller, ‘Spell’

ABC/Fred LeeAs Power moves toward the end of its sixth and final season, series star Omari Hardwick is looking to expand his career into the horror genre.

The two-time NAACP Image Award winner is in final negotiations to star in the thriller Spell, according to Variety.

Hardwick will portray a man who crashes his plane while flying with his family to Appalachia.  He awakens dazed and alone and is found by an elderly couple.  They appear to be kind, but he soon discovers they have a sinister side.

Rosewood star Morris Chestnut will be one of the producers of the film.

Hardwick is currently shooting another horror flick, Army of the Dead. The 45-year old actor also appears in Nate Parker’s new movie, American Skin, which premiered last week at the Venice Film Festival. In addition, he’s starring in the upcoming basketball movie, D Is For Detroit.
