Paras Griffin/Getty ImagesGrammy-winning artist PJ Morton has shared a new song and video for “So in Love,” featuring Darrel ‘MusiqCity’ Walls and Zacardi Cortez.
The song serves as the follow-up to his single “All In His Plan,” featuring fellow Grammy-winning artists Mary Mary and Le’Andria Johnson. It also peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart.
Both tracks will be featured on PJ’s first-ever gospel album, Gospel According to PJ, which arrives on August 28th.
The self-produced project features appearances and soulful vocals from the likes of Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell, The Clark Sisters, Commissioned, Kirk Franklin, and over a dozen other gospel greats singing fresh interpretations and born-again arrangements of gospel hits written by Morton himself.
PJ’s gospel influence came from being the son of prominent pastor and recording artist Bishop Paul S. Morton, who preached at one of the largest congregations in New Orleans.
Believing “people need music that inspires more than ever right now,” PJ says this album goes deeper than just the surface level.
“It goes deeper than just being a gospel record,” PJ explains in a press release. “It’s a narrative about a father and son, and my father being there for me even though I didn’t take the path that people thought I should, and we still got here. We still got to this album and me being who I am and me making him proud.”
