‘Power’ star Michael Rainey Jr. reveals he’s received hundreds of death threats amid claims he shot Ghost

Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for STARZPower‘s Michael Rainey Jr., who plays Ghost’s hard-headed son, Tariq, is definitely feeling the heat. After a video recently leaked that appeared to show Tariq killing his father, Rainey Jr. has revealed that Power fans have taken their frustrations out on him.

“Me going through my dms tryna figure out why I have 326 death threat messages,” Rainey Jr. wrote, captioning an Instagram post of him with a quizzical look on his face.

While fans appear certain that Rainey Jr.’s character is the official culprit — after Tommy and Dre’s characters were recently ruled out as the shooters — 50 Cent tells Power fans not to be so sure.

“Your gonna have to wait to find out who killed Ghost,” the Power producer wrote on Instagram, sharing an article that notes Power showrunner Courtney Kemp had production film several alternative endings featuring different shooters.

“I will leak more before this is over,” continued. “I’ve prepared for every possible thing. WELCOME TO THE 50 CENT SHOW.”
