Vince Bucci/STARTRAKS PHOTO via ABCPrince is getting ready to hit the road. The legendary singer and his female band, 3rdEyeGirl, are expected to begin their string of surprise concerts next week.
The singer’s outing, dubbed the Hit & Run Tour, will kick off March 14 in Louisville, Kentucky, which will be a hometown concert for 3rdEyeGirl drummer Hannah Welton.
Tickets will go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. local time, and a venue will be announced at a later date. A portion of the show’s proceeds will be donated to local charities.
Last year, Prince performed several Hit & Run shows in the U.K. without any advanced promotion — the singer unexpectedly played small nightclubs after announcing each show the day of the gig via Twitter.
