Rick Kern/WireImageR. Kelly is now pleading with a Chicago judge to maintain access to his studio in his beloved city, The Chicago Tribune reports.

The R&B crooner previously had his access limited after inspectors found that the studio violated building code regulations. The space in question contains an alleged “sex dungeon” that Kelly has continued to deny the existence of.

“I have never been creative or worked between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.,’’ the 12 Play artist is noted stating in a two-page affidavit which he filed Thursday.

City attorneys claim the studio has been used illegally as a living space, lending evidence to a number of allegations relating to assaults taking place there.

Kelly, however, is requesting late-night access as he claims his creativity is supported by working between the hours of 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.

“This inability to use my studio has not affected the landlord’s expectation that rent must be paid,” added Kelly’s affidavit. “Creativity manifests in various ways and a plethora of times.”
