by

Cook County Sheriff’s OfficeR. Kelly‘s been laying low after he was released from jail March 9, but he returned to social media on Tuesday night — to wish his daughter a happy birthday.

In the post, the embattled singer croons “Happy Birthday” to “daughter Joann,” who’s turning 21. He then blows a kiss, adding, “Happy birthday, baby. Daddy love you.  I love you, no matter what. I love you so much. Bye. Happy Birthday.”

He captioned the post “family for life,” adding emojis of a birthday cake, praying hands, a microphone and a keyboard.

Joann is one of three children Kelly has with his ex-wife Andrea: The others are 19-year-old Jay and 17-year-old Robert.

The singer turned himself in to Cook County, Illinois officials on February 22 after he was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal and sexual abuse.  He was released three days later after a friend paid 10% of his million-dollar bond. He was arrested again a week later for failing to pay over $161,000 in child support.  The money was paid on his behalf anonymously, and he was released.

During his controversial interview with Gayle King on CBS news, Kelly claimed that he was “fighting to have a relationship with my kids, most of all, more than anything,” adding, “I want a relationship with my kids because I have missed a lot of years of their life. They love me. I love them.”

Explaining why he was so far behind on child support payments, Kelly said, “How can I pay child support? How? If my ex-wife is destroying my name and I can’t work? How can I work? How can I get paid? How can I take care of my kids?”

When King pointed out that Andrea said Kelly had abused her, Kelly yelled, “Lie!”
