Report: Amanda Seales to become a permanent host on ‘The Real’

by

ABC/Kelsey McNealIt looks like this will be a very joyous, and very “real” Christmas for Amanda Seales.

The comedian/actress/recording artist has been filling as a guest host on The Real, and The Jasmine Brand reports she’ll soon be announced as a permanent host for 2020.

“She guest co-hosted on the show for a while and they loved her, she really connected with the audience,” a source tells the website.

One of The Real‘s original hosts, Tamar Braxton, was fired in 2016 after two seasons. Since then, Adrienne Houghton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley have hosted the show with a series of guest hosts. Now it appears that Seales will be the permanent replacement for Braxton.

As an actress, Amanda has had a recurring role on Insecure, and also appeared on black-ish. This year, she hosted the NBC comedy competition series Bring The Funny, featuring judges Kenan Thompson, Chrissy Teigen and Jeff Foxworthy.

The 38-year-old entertainer has enjoyed a versatile career, including music. She’s released three EPs, two mixtapes, and appeared on Q-Tip‘s 2008 album, The Renaissance. In 2007, she replaced Natalie Stewart on the Floetry tour and performed across the country with original duo member Marsha Ambrosius.
