Has Chris Brown found a way to be released early from jail?

According to TMZ, the singer’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, is reportedly looking to reach a civil settlement with the alleged victim in Brown’s Washington, D.C. assault case, in which Brown’s accuser being offered an undisclosed amount of money.

The gossip site reports a deal could be sealed within days, possibly with the accuser dropping out of the prosecution.

The singer and his bodyguard Chris Hollosy were arrested in October and charged with misdemeanor assault after an incident outside a hotel in Washington involving the pair and a third man, who may have been seeking a photograph with Brown.  Brown and Hollosy were accused of hitting the man.

However, even if the D.C. assault case, which is scheduled to go to trial next month, is dropped — removing one possible probation violation from the mix — Chris will still have to face a judge in Los Angeles over the question of whether or not he violated his probation in his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna by being booted from a rehab facility in Malibu last Friday where he was undergoing court-mandated treatment for anger management.

Brown remains in jail in L.A. for failing to stay in a the rehab program, pending a probation violation hearing in late April.
