Rihanna Sets Chart History with Eminem’s “The Monster”

ABC/Richard HarbaughRihanna is now number three on the list of most weeks at number one on the Billboard 100 chart with 51 weeks thanks to her appearance on Eminem’s “The Monster” which remains at the top of the chart for the fourth week.  The record marks her thirteenth appearance on a number one song.  With the milestone she passes Boyz II Men who held the number one for 50 weeks in the aggregate.  Mariah Carey is the queen of the chart with 79 weeks at number one followed by the Beatles with 59 weeks.

“The Monster” also remains at the top of the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for the ninth week thanks to its best sales week yet with 433,000 downloads. That is a 123 percent increase from the previous week for total sales of 2.2 million.
