Rita Ora, Involved in “Lemonade/Becky Frenzy, Denies Rumors

by

ABC/Lou RoccoIt’s been a while since the world heard from budding pop star Rita Ora.  But like some others, the British beauty is embroiled in the drama surrounding Beyonce’s new visual album, Lemonade.

The 25-year-old singer became a target for the Beyhive after posting a Snapchat photo of herself in Tezenis’ sheer, lemon-inspired lingerie, which immediately prompted Beyonce’s ravenous fan base to brand her as “Becky with the good hair” — the woman who’s slammed as being the mistress to her unfaithful lover in the Lemonade song  “Sorry.”

The R pendant that Ora usually wears was also flipped to look like a J in the Snapchat photo, which led to more speculation that she was referring to Beyoncé’s husband, Jay Z. The photo was posted two days before Saturday night’s premiere of Lemonade on HBO.

“I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false,” Ora tweeted on Tuesday. “I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyonce. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”

Utmost respect indeed.  On Monday, Ora stepped out in West Hollywood wearing the exact same red  and white Gucci top and skirt that Beyonce wore in her “Formation” video.

She has been known to sing her own versions of Beyoncé’s songs — most notably a rousing version of ‘Drunk In Love’ in 2014.

The “Body on Me” singer — who signed with Jay Z’s Roc Nation in 2008 –is being sued by the company for breach of contract.
