Rodney Jerkins & gospel supergroup The Good News join forces for COVID-19 relief single Come Together

Mega-hit songwriter and producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins has teamed with gospel supergroup The Good News for an inspiring new single, “Come Together,” to benefit COVID-19 relief.

The track hopes to inspire hope, comfort, and raise funds to support global pandemic relief efforts. The majority of proceeds from the uplifting single will provide emergency aid and resources through two organizations: the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund and Compassion International.

“With all that’s going on in our world, I felt it was time to give back by going back to my gospel roots,” Darkchild says of the track in a statement.

“The world is in a place of chaos, confusion, and fear but with God on our side, directing our lives, this too shall pass,” he adds. “In these times of social distancing, I believe through God, love, family, and music we can still come together.”

Darkchild has written hits for everyone from Michael Jackson and Beyoncé to Sam Smith and Lady Gaga. He won two Grammys for Destiny’s Child’s 2001 hit Say My Name.” 

The Good News supergroup features a powerhouse lineup of gospel stars, including Mary Mary, LecraeKirk FranklinFred HammondMarvin Sapp, mother-daughter duo Karen Clark Sheard and Kierra SheardDarkchild‘s wife Joy Enriquez and his daughter Heavenly Joy and more.

“Come Together” was produced and co-written Jerkins  Other writers on the track include Lecrae and songwriters Jazz Nixon and the late LaShawn “Big Shiz” Daniels, who’ve penned tracks for Jennifer LopezWhitney Houston, and other top artists.
