Former American Idol champion Ruben Studdard rose to fame, fell from fame, and now he’s making a comeback which he describes in the new episode of the BET/Centric documentary series Being, which airs Saturday at 9 p.m. ET.
“I had a lot of nay-sayers,” Studdard says in a teaser for the episode posted to Centric’s website. “I didn’t know how I was going to get there but I knew I had to make it happen.”
As previously reported, the “Velvet Teddy Bear” will kick off his Meant to Be Tour featuring Lalah Hathaway April 5 at Detroit’s Garden Theatre and it will include stops in Austin, Houston, Memphis, Chattanooga, Washington D.C., New York and New Haven, CT where the tour will conclude on June 14.
