Run-DMC’s new capsule collection with Adidas sells out online in less than 24 hours

by

Courtesy of AdidasHip hop icon Rev Run celebrated his 56th birthday over the weekend, receiving the best news ever about Run-DMC‘s latest collection with Adidas.

“Best bday news they just told me the collection is sold out online,” Run wrote on Instagram Saturday.

Paying homage to the late Jam Master Jay, the capsule collection launched the same day and was designed with the iconic DJ’s trailblazing fashion sense, featuring a special pair of Adidas classic Superstar 50 shoes with three stripes on each side. The collection also features a satin blue varsity jacket with “Hollis Crew” written on the back, as well as a reissue of the “Kings from Queens” Run-DMC and Adidas crew neck.

The black hoodie comes in two styles: one featuring a medallion of their 1986 single, “My Adidas,” and another with embroidered ribbons to celebrate the history of Run-DMC.

The faces of Rev Run, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and the late DJ Jam Master Jay are featured on a black t-shirt, which is accompanied by a lookbook that follows the group and some of their family members to their original stomping grounds in Queens, New York at 192 Park, where the story of Run DMC first began.

The lookbook features touching images of the parks the group used to hang out in, as well as images of the Jam Master Jay mural in Hollis.

Some of the special Run-DMC collection is still available at Adidas.com, as well as on the Adidas CONFIRMED app.
