On Monday, Russell Simmons decided to share his on Instagram.  He suggested the virus was caused by consuming meat, posting an image with messages that read “COVID-19 was caused by eating animals” and ‘COVID-19 would not exist if the world was vegan.” Simmons has been a vegetarian for the last 12 years and has made numerous efforts towards encouraging others in his community to do the same.

“I know people don’t want to read this And it’s tough to digest …….. But this statement is factual and necessary. Eating animals is horrible unconscious behavior,” Simmons wrote

After receiving some backlash, Simmons apologized in another post.

“I’m sorry for all those who believe my previous post was insensitive,” he wrote. “My intention was and is to promote compassion, and a safer, healthier planet for all.”

Meanwhile, Keri Hilson suggested the virus was caused by China’s 5G technology. According to The Jasmine Brand, on Sunday night, she wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “People have been trying to warn us about 5G for YEARS. Petitions, organizations, studies, what we’re going thru is the affects of the radiation.”

The singer backed up her theories on Instagram with screenshots of stats and a video of holistic physician Thomas Cowan, who claimed: “In every pandemic in the last 150 years, there was a quantum leap in the electrification of the earth.”

After numerous reactions and speculation about whether she had been hacked, Hilson removed her posts on Instagram and Twitter.

“I appreciate good discourse on unconventional thinking,” she tweeted. “Let’s just be safe out there, cuz whatever the cause of the virus a real thing. May God be with us…prayers to alll!!!!”
