Megan Thee Stallion is giving life to her “Hot Girl Summer.” The “Savage” crooner shared on Instagram that she had become the “first female rapper” to cover Sports Illustrated magazine.

“REAL SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIMSUIT EDITION COVER MODEL S***!!!,” Meg wrote, captioning an image of her SI cover photo. “I want to thank all the strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl life. It means the world to me to be on this cover DREAM COME TRUE!!”

Megan joins tennis star Naomi Osaka and model Leyna Bloom, who are featured on separate covers for  the annual issue, which centers on community as its theme. Bloom also makes history as the first transgender cover star.

In an interview with People about her history-making cover, Megan reveals she had “been training for months and… was super prepared.” She also notes that working with SI was “one of the best experiences in [her] life,” praising the magazine’s efforts to transcend traditional beauty standards.

“I think they are on the forefront when it comes to diversity and inclusion because they do not fear change, they lean into it,” she said. “They see the world and have it reflect on the cover and pages inside. That is why they have been so successful.”

The new issue of Sports Illustrated hits newsstands July 22.
