The singer-songwriter headed to Twitter on Thursday, writing two impassioned statements in the wake of the Alton Sterling and Philando Castile shooting deaths, as well as the recent sniper attack Dallas, which left five law enforcement officers dead.

“I can count 5 parents in the last 3 hours who have text[ed] me and said my child just asked me “AM I GOING TO DIE”?!?,” she writes

“The TRAUMA that is being passed on to us, and OUR CHILDREN by this non stop murder of our brother and sisters is sickening… .”

She also retweeted a message that read, “its so sad! A 7yr old told his mom ” I’m not going to get big, I will be shot like all the other kids.”

Solange is the third member of the extended Knowles family to make a statement in light of the recent gun violence this week.  Her sister Beyonce wrote a call-to-action letter for fans on her website Thursday, and her brother-in-law Jay Z has released a new song, titled “Spiritual,” that tackles the subject of police brutality.
