Jermaine Dupri; Thaddaeus McAdams/ExclusiveAccess.netIt looks like those rumors that Janet Jackson and ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri have rekindled their romance are just that: rumors.
A source tells Entertainment Tonight that the pair’s relationship is “strictly platonic.”
“They are close and she’ll always have a warm place for him in her heart.
Both Janet and Jermaine are warm people, so it’s not unusual that there would be hugging or hand-holding, even in public,” the source continues.
As previously reported, Janet and Jermaine were spotted “cuddled up and holding hands” at an after party in Atlanta on December 17, which prompted speculation that they were once again a couple.
Janet and Jermaine began dating in 2002 and broke up in 2009.
In April, Janet confirmed that she was separating from estranged husband Wissam Al Mana, after five years of marriage.
Their union was Janet’s third and Wissam’s first.
As of September, Janet was seeking full custody of their 10-month-old son, Eissa.
