Arik McArthur/Getty ImagesPop Smoke’s estate has shared the deluxe version of his posthumous debut, Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, on what would have been his 21st birthday today.
Along with the deluxe album comes a music video for “The Woo,” featuring Roddy Ricch and the album’s executive producer, 50 Cent.
The updated Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon features the original tracks, along with 15 new tracks with the likes of PnB Rock, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, and Fivio Foreign for the two-part track “Showing Off,” and more.
It also gained three remixes: Queen Naija on “Yea Yea,” Nigerian artist Burna Boy on “Enjoy Yourself,” and King Combs & Chicago rapper Calboy on “Diana.”
Davido brings the vibes out on “Tsunami,” as Jaime Foxx’s vocals smoothly float over the track “She Feeling Nice.”
There was a lot of controversy stemming around Pop’s posthumous debut, regarding verses being pulled and a reworked album cover designed by Virgil Abloh.
As previously reported, Pusha T’s verse was removed from the track titled “Paranoia,” which features Gunna and Young Thug, after Pusha took a few shots at Drake on his verse.
Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon topped the Billboard 200 chart last week, with a total of 251,000 equivalent album units, while all 19 tracks landed on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
Four suspects were been charged with the murder of Pop, born Bashar Barakah Jackson, who was shot and killed February 19 during the home invasion in Hollywood Hills, at a house where he was staying. Four people, two of them minors, have been arrested and charged in connection with his murder.
