SZA scheduled to perform at BET Experience Friday after recovering from vocal cord problems

ABC/Randy HolmesSZA has recovered from her vocal problems and after performing Sunday at the Firefly Festival in Dover, Delaware, she’s scheduled to hit the stage at the BET Experience concert Friday in Los Angeles.

Last month, the “All The Stars” singer feared she’d suffered permanent damage to her vocal cords and was forced to take of leave of absence from the TDE Championship Tour.  But SZA now says she’s able to sing again, and she tweeted her gratitude to fans for their concern.

“Firstly I wanna thank everyone for sending me loving kindness and extending your energy my direction,” she wrote. “Thank u for your prayers, I feel them and deeply appreciate you I love you.”

“Thank u to the incredible team of Doctors and vocal technicians that have taken time to see me over the last few weeks in every city,” SZA continued. “I’m blessed to say my voice is not permanently damaged and i’ve been working daily to get back. Slowly but surely.”

SZA’s on the BET Experience concert bill with Chris BrownElla Mai and Teyana Taylor at the Staples Center in L.A. She’s also up for four honors at Sunday’s BET Awards: Best New Artist, Female R&B/Pop Artist, Viewer’s Choice, and Album of the Year, for Ctrl.  

It was also announced Tuesday that SZA will headline the Trillectro Music Festival September 22 in Columbia, Maryland. That show also features 2 Chainz and Young Thug.
