T-Boz reveals how CBD products help her cope with sickle cell anemia

by

Raymond Hall/GC ImagesTionne “T-Boz” Watkins from TLC was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia when she was seven years old, and now, 43 years later, she’s surviving and thriving…thanks to her new line of products that incorporate the cannabis derivative CBD.

T-Boz explains that her CBD line — called TLCBD — has helped keep her healthy on the road.

“Before I started taking CBD, you can go back through our history and they would tell you, ‘T-Boz is sick, T-Boz has ruined another tour.’ It’s not a cure, but since being on it, I don’t get sick as often,” she tells EURWeb.

“I’m way stronger and when I do get sick it’s not as bad or for as long,” she adds. “On this last tour, I broke my rib and I was able to still perform with a broken rib. A long time ago that would have sent me into a sickle cell crisis.”

“Because I was on CBD, I was able to go to the hospital for one day, get fluids for the pain and some lidocaine patches and take some CBD…and I made it through.”

And later this year, T-Boz plans to mark her milestone 50th birthday on April 26 in high style.

She notes, “Celebrating 50, for me is a super blessing….[since] I was told I wouldn’t live past 30.”

“My plan is to go to Bora Bora, Tahiti, Thailand. I’ve always wanted to stay in one of those huts in the ocean, or the big bungalows with the pool,” she says. “I’m going to one of those countries, if not all three.”

Revealing that she canceled a tour so she could travel, she says, “They wanted me to work on my birthday — that ain’t gonna happen, especially my 50th! That’s a big celebration.”
