Tank‘s eighth studio album, Savage, is finally out everywhere today, and the R&B singer is breathing a sigh of relief, especially considering how difficult it was to get a guest appearance from Ludacris on the project.
He tells ABC Radio that making the project he thought, “‘Oooo, Luda. Gotta get Luda for this one. Luda’s doing a thousand things from TV, film, music, everything. Luda, I just need an hour. When do you have a lunch break? Can you rap on my song man? Just take a break. Don’t go to craft services.'”
As for two other featured artists on Savage — Candice Boyd and J. Valentine — he says, “Candice was awesome. I think she’s amazing, so I’ma do my best to promote her as hard as possible. She needs that light.”
Tank adds, “J. Valentine, he’s my manager too, but he’s tried to retire from the game, so I’ll always make him sing on my album. So when he comes out as an artist, I manage him. He manages me right now, but when he comes out as an artist, I’ma manage him.”
