ABC/Lou RoccoTaraji P. Henson and Ed Helms are bringing some much needed levity to Netflix next month with their new action-comedy Coffee & Kareem.
In the first trailer for the film, Helms, who plays officer James Coffee, is seen trying to connect with Henson’s twelve-year-old son Kareem. However, things go awry when Kareem decides to hire a criminal to scare his mom’s new boyfriend, making them all a target of a ruthless drug kingpin.
“Oh why did I date a white guy!,” says Henson in the trailer. “My friend Sharon was right, all of you are [crazy] up!”
Taraji also shared the trailer of the film on her Instagram, telling her fans to “get ready.”
The feature also stars Betty Gilpin, RonReaco Lee, Andrew Bachelor and David Alan Grier.
Coffee & Kareem launches on Netflix on April 3.
