The legacy lives on: Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G.’s duets album, The King & I, is out today

by

Eric JohnsonFaith Evans is on a serious mission to preserve the legacy of her late husband The Notorious B.I.G. with their new duets album, The King & I, which arrives today.

She assures fans that the new disc is much more than just a “cash grab.”

“If it was just a money thing, I probably would have thought about doing it a long time ago. I have every right to do it, don’t get me wrong,” she tells Rolling Stone.

“But it certainly wasn’t about, ‘Oh, that would be a super big, money, money, money!'”

The highly-anticipated album features guest appearances from a slew of stars, including Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Kim, Snoop Dogg, Jadakiss and even Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace.  It arrives two days before what would have been the iconic rapper’s 45th birthday on May 21.

AllHipHop.com founder Chuck Creekmur believes that Biggie’s memory deserves to be honored for as long as possible.

He tells ABC Radio, “I think we should have more things about Biggie. We should celebrate him more intensely than we already do. He should never fade.”

“Biggie was a great. He was a true great. He impacted the entire world and that’s something most people never accomplish,” adds Creekmur.

“So I think we need a documentary, we need some books, you know, whatever it takes.”

You can buy your copy of The King & I today in stores and via the usual digital platforms.
