The Weeknd Covers Rolling Stone, Talks Sex, Drugs and Fame

by

Mark Seliger/RollingstoneThe Weeknd is on the latest cover of Rolling Stone magazine, in which he talks about being on drugs, sexual songs, dating model Bella Hadid, creating smash hits, famous friends and even reveals that Drake wasn’t impressed with his music in the beginning.

The reclusive singer, who has only given a handful of interviews, candidly discusses his previous drug use. “I never needed detox or anything. But I was addicted in the sense of ‘F***, I don’t want to spend this day without getting high,'” he tells the mag.

The Weeknd also explained the significance of his hair.  “I want to be remembered as iconic and different. So I was like, ‘F*** it — I’m gonna let my hair just be what it wants,'” he says. “I’ll probably cut it if it starts interfering with my sight. I can kind of see it right now. But if I cut it, I’d look like everyone else. And that’s just so boring to me.”

He adds that he already feels that he’s affected music. “People tell me I’m changing the culture. I already can’t turn on the radio. I think I’m gonna drop one more album, one more powerful body of work, then take a little break — go to Tokyo or Ethiopia or some s***,” he says.
