Image Courtesy RCA RecordsTinashe is preparing to take fans on a journey with her upcoming,sophomore album titled Joyride. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the singer explains the meaning behind the album’s title.
“I always had it in the back of my head, but it started to become more and more relevant to my current state of my career. With all this traveling I’ve done this past year and everything I’ve gone through, it just really feels like an adventure, a journey, a ride,” she tells the publication.
The singer also released an album trailer, in which she tells her detractors that she “can’t be ignored.” The singer elaborates on why she feels “underappreciated.”
“I feel like I’ve been working really hard this year at developing a fan base, a touring base. I’m continuing to grow, but you always feel like you’re a little bit underappreciated, undervalued,” she says. “Especially for me, it’s exciting to have new music and to give people a chance to rediscover me again.”
While she remains mum on the details, the singer tells ABC Radio that she already has an upbeat lead single picked out. “The new single is fun, I have a couple, I don’t want to give too much away right now,” she revealed at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards. “Definitely got some stuff that you’re going to want to hear in the club, that you’re just going to want to turn up to and some stuff that’s going to make you dance and get on your feet.”
Joyride is slated to arrive this November.
