In an interview with Where Is The Buzz, Tommy Davidson, who voiced the character of Oscar Proud on the animated series, says the show is being renewed by Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

“I forgot to tell you that, The Proud Family is coming back,” Davidson told the site, adding, “It’s on one of Disney’s streaming [services]. Yeah, Proud Family‘s coming back. They told me not to tell anyone…new episodes!”

The popular cartoon, which originally aired from 2001-2005 on the Disney Channel, followed 14-year-old Penny Proud, voiced by Kyla Pratt, her energetic father Oscar, her sensible mother Trudy, her no-nonsense grandmother, and Penny’s twin baby siblings BeBe and CeCe. The series concluded with the Disney Channel original movie, The Proud Family Movie.

In addition to Davidson and Pratt, the series also starred the voices of Jo Marie Payton, Paula Jai Parker, Tara Strong, Karen Malina White, Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, Orlando Brown, Raquel Lee, Maria Canals-Barrera and more.

Disney has yet to confirm The Proud Family revival.
