Trey Songz cries out for black lives on his new single 2020 Riots: How Many Times

Dane IsaacTrey Songz cries out “How many mothers have to cry? How many brothers gotta die?” on his powerful new single, “2020 Riots: How Many Times.”

“How many more times?/ How many more marches?/ How many more signs?/ How many more lives?/ How many more times?” the R&B singer croons.

Trey decided to open up like he never has before to highlight “the injustices faced in the black community at the hands of police brutality and institutionalized racism.”

Trey wanted to “make music that really touches the soul, that really addresses what the world is feeling right now, especially our people,” according to a statement.

The song also acknowledges the “pain and anguish” of many in the black community while mourning the unnecessary killings of George FloydBreonna TaylorAhmaud Arbery, and many others.

Proceeds from “2020 Riots: How Many Times” will benefit Black Lives Matter and the National Bail Fund Network.
