Tyrese Says Shame was Inspired by Breaking Many Hearts

by

Voltron RecordzTyrese‘s emotional ballad “Shame” is riding high on the charts, but the inspiration for the record came from some of the low moments in his previous relationships.

“I wish I could say that the inspiration behind this was me breaking one heart, but I have broken many hearts from being a man who assumed that because you used the words ‘I LOVE YOU’ that I really knew what love was,” Gibson says of the song, produced by music legend Warryn Campbell.

Tyrese adds that he’s aware of all the women he’s hurt.  “I discovered I knew nothing of what love is,” he admits. “You will grow through what you go through. I have put some beautiful hearts and innocent people through hell and I’m ashamed of it. That’s my truth, and my truth produced this moment.”

“Shame,” which appears on his latest album, Black Rose, currently at No. 3 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart.
