Usher is scheduled to take the stage for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The network has announced that the singer will join pop singer Ariana Grande and Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds of Summer among the performers at the annual event, airing from the Forum in Inglewood, California on Sunday, August 24 at 9 p.m ET/PT.
This will be Usher’s first VMAs showcase since delivering a memorable performance during the 2010 awards performing a medley of hits including”OMG” and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love.”
“Performing live is the purest form of musical expression and I am damn happy to return to the VMA stage with new music!” the singer said in a statement.
The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards nominations will be announced on Wednesday, July 16.
